Rosie's was the nearest pub in Ballenskellig and was also conveniently situated halfway between the two houses. That's Rosie's on the right as you walk from the little house towards the big house.

Happily, it was also the favorite pub of all that we visited (and there were several) during our two weeks.
We didn't really appreciate how lucky we were until the end of that first week when we had a chance to compare Rosie's to a few other pubs. And we really came to appreciate Rosie's after we left Kerry and spent time in pubs closer to Dublin.
Here's what we liked about it:
This is Rosie herself with her son.
Our last night in Ballenskellig, we went late to Rosie's for one last Guinness and round of limericks. By midnight, the pub was packed - perhaps 80 people, of all ages - all just talking. With much Gaelic in the air.
